Clinical Embryologist Lead

BASIC FUNCTION

Lead the work of Clinical Embryologists and/or others. Perform gamete incubation, insemination, embryo culture, cryopreservation and other techniques in human in vitro fertilization. Maintain laboratory records, assist in research, and assist in report preparation.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others. Under general direction, perform clinical duties in support of in vitro fertilization; record and summarize data in support of research.

TYPICAL WORK

Coordinate clinic and andrology schedules;

Prepare and maintain lab equipment, order supplies, order and maintain mice, and conduct mouse embryo toxicity tests;

Assist in orienting new residents, fellows and new clinical embryologists;

Record data, such as procedures performed and patients seen, for research and compliance reports;

Assist in determining and monitoring quality assurance requirements;

Assist in preparation of laboratory reports;

Train Embryologists and/or others in aspects of in vitro fertilization procedures;

Perform the duties of Clinical Embryologists;

Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – UW Contract Classified
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS – Classified Non-Union

A Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field of technology or science AND two years of experience as a Clinical Embryologist

equivalent education/experience.
