March 1 Prostaff market range adjustments

Last updated: January 22, 2024.

Effective March 1, 2024, market ranges for professional staff jobs will be adjusted based on the 2023 Professional Staff Salary Survey conducted by the Milliman consulting firm. These changes help keep the University’s pay structures competitive with the market. Please see the  2023 Professional Staff Salary Survey‘s Executive Summary, methods, survey findings and benchmark job descriptions.

The updated market ranges and list of impacted employees have been shared with the Board of Deans and Chancellors (BODC), major org finance/budget heads, and UWHR. Departments should review their open recruitments and work with their Recruiting Office Partner to adjust posted salary ranges, if needed.

How will these adjustments to minimum be processed in Workday?

Professional staff employees whose salary is below the March 1, 2024 mandatory market range minimums will have their salary increased to market minimum effective March 1, 2024 and the pay change will be reflected on the employees’ March 25, 2024 paycheck. The HR Compensation Office will partner with the Integrated Service Center on these updates. No action is required at the unit level.

The HR Compensation Office continually audits for compliance with the mandatory minimums and works with departments and the ISC to process adjustments when needed.
