CLASS SERIES CONCEPT

Within the Institute for Health Metrics Evaluation (IHME), provide support to assigned research team, through database management, data quality management, statistical modeling, computational analysis, data extraction and formatting, data visualization and production of technical research papers and presentations.

BASIC FUNCTION

Provide support to assigned research team through database administration, data analysis and data summarization.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Under general supervision, independently engage research databases, provide analysis of information, formulate data into concise summaries and/or develop complex code using coding languages such as Stata, Python, R and SQL.

The difference between the IHME Data Analyst and the IHME Data Extraction Analyst is that while the IHME Data Analyst may spend a portion of time on data extraction duties, the majority of time for positions in this classification is devoted to duties involving data analysis and not data extraction.
