Discounts and priority enrollment at community childcare centers

Last updated: April 15, 2023

Securing convenient, affordable and reliable childcare is a top priority for most parents. Finding childcare in the Puget Sound region takes time and can be difficult. The University is working hard to increase support for employee caregivers.

PEBB-eligible UW employees and students receive priority enrollment access to Bright Horizons nationwide and select KinderCare centers on a first-come, first-served basis in the Seattle area. Priority access does not guarantee placement, but it will move you up the wait list as a UW priority. UW caregivers also have a free basic membership to Sittercity and receive discounts from local nanny services.

Bright Horizons priority enrollment and discount network

Bright Horizons provides a tuition discount of up to 10% for full-time care at select partner centers in their childcare network. Visit the Bright Horizons UW website or call 877-624-4532 to locate centers in your area and receive information on tuition rates and potential wait pool. All necessary registration and tuition fees are the responsibility of the family.

Once you have decided on your desired Bright Horizons location, you will need to present your most recent Workday payslip or confirmation of current course enrollment as proof of eligibility. Your Bright Horizons application fee will be credited to your first month of tuition if your child enrolls in the center.
