WA Federation of State Employees Master

A wide variety of University of Washington employees are represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE). WFSE is part of The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). At the University, WFSE/AFSCME Council 28 represents people working in public service including:

  • Food service workers
  • Gardeners
  • Truck drivers
  • Laundry operators
  • Certain types of health care workers
  • Skilled trades such as electricians and mechanics
  • People working at the library
  • Many other people working at UW
