UW ARC 360 assessments

With 360-degree assessments, you rate yourself on a set of competencies and are rated by others of your choosing—such as your manager, colleagues, direct reports, and even external customers or stakeholders—on those same competencies. Participating in a 360 allows you to see yourself from many different perspectives, offers insight into others’ perceptions of your contributions and abilities, and provides direction for your development.

UW ARC 360 is a 360-degree feedback and development program based on competencies created by POD for specific roles at the UW: chancellors and deans; organizational leaders; front-line supervisors; and individual contributors.

How this program works

After you identify the right 360 for your role (see below), contact POD to get started (pod@uw.edu or 206-543-1957). You’ll then receive a confirmation email about the process and be assigned to a POD coach.

Your coach will be your partner in your 360, reviewing and sharing your finalized report with you, and meeting with you for your follow-up coaching. Your coach will work with you to recognize both essential strengths and potential areas for development, and will also help you clarify goals and put them in the context of your current job and future career aspirations.

UW ARC 360 is designed to be a tool for development and is not meant to be part of the annual review process. Only participants and their coach see the report; participants then choose what part of their report to share with their manager or others. Your POD coach will help you consider which information to share with others and the benefits and risks of such sharing.

How raters contribute to the process

When you’re sent the confirmation email, you’ll also be given instructions for selecting raters. Choosing your raters deserves careful consideration; for an effective and comprehensive 360, you’ll want to include a variety of perspectives, roles, and stakeholders.
