UW & SEIU 1199NW RHH Negotiations Recap for September 13, 2022

Background

This recap details the fourth virtual session for the negotiation for the 2023-2025 collective bargaining agreement between the UW and SEIU 1199NW Research/Hall Health. Recaps are published online on the UW Labor Relations website.

1199NW RHH Initial Proposals

Article 9- Wages and Other Pay Provisions

The Union proposed the following across-the-board increases to all members of the bargaining unit over their current salary:

  • July 1, 2023: 15% or a $5.75 per hour increase whichever is higher
  • July 1, 2024: 8% or a $2.25 per hour increase whichever is higher

The Union also proposed to raise Preceptor Premium to $2.00 up from $1.50, Certification Premium to $1.25 up from $1.00, and proposed the BSN premium at $1.00.

 

UW Initial Proposals

New MOU- Vacation Scheduling

In response to the Union’s initial proposal in Article 11, the Employer proposed to instead create a new MOU which would give the Union and employees the ability to suggest changes to the existing departmental vacation scheduling procedures. The Union and the Employer may then schedule a JLM to discuss.

 

Next Steps

The next UW & 1199NW RHH bargaining session is scheduled for September 22, 2022 and will be held virtually.
