UW & SEIU 1199NW RHH Negotiations Recap for August 25, 2022

Background
This recap details the third virtual session for the negotiation for the 2023-2025 collective bargaining agreement between the UW and SEIU 1199NW Research/Hall Health. Recaps are published online on the UW Labor Relations website.

SEIU 1199NW RHH Initial Proposals
New MOU- Wage Adjustments
The Union proposed that effective August 1, 2022, all wage scales would be adjusted to reflect the wage scales of the corresponding job classification at Harborview Medical Center. For Research RNs, the Union proposed, effective August 1, 2022, the wage scales will be at the same rate as Hall Health RN 2s. Additionally, the Union proposed a 5% recruitment and retention adjustment for Nurse Practitioners and PA-ARNPs. The R & R adjustment would be made immediately following the wage scale adjustments.

UW Initial Proposals
The employer proposed housekeeping edits to the following articles:
Article 37- Miscellaneous Leave
Article 38- Family Medical Leave Act and Parental Leave
Article 39- Unpaid Holidays for a Reason of Faith or Conscience
Article 40- Leave Due to Family Care Emergencies
Article 41- Civil Jury Duty Leave and Bereavement Leave
Article 42- Leave Related to Domestic Violence Sexual Assault or Stalking
Article 43- Military Leave
