UW IHME & SEIU 925 Negotiations Recap for April 22, 2020

Background

This recap details the third virtual session for the initial collective bargaining agreement between the UW IHME and SEIU 925. Recaps are published online on the UW Labor Relations website.

Union Initial Proposals

Ground Rules – The parties exchanged proposals regarding ground rules for bargaining and aim to have all initial proposals on the table by June 17.

Duration – The parties agreed to pursue a contract duration separate from the biennium that the main SEIU 925 CBA follows. The Employer stated its intention to bargain a three-year contract, and the parties will continue to discuss duration. Given this new understanding, the Union withdrew its proposals from the prior session regarding wages, U-PASS, career pathways, promotions and in-grade salary adjustments.

Next Steps

The next UW IHME and SEIU 925 bargaining session is scheduled for April 30 and will be held virtually.
