Communication Regarding Negotiated BSN Premium for Harborview and Airlift Northwest Registered Nurses

On February 8, 2018, Curtis Colvin, Director of Recruiting for UW Medicine Human Resources, distributed correspondence regarding the implementation process associated with the $.50/hour BSN degree premium for HMC and ALNW RNs, which will be in effect July 1, 2018.

To receive this premium, eligible employees are to complete the “BSN Premium Application Form” linked below and submit it to the HMC Nursing Recruitment office along with a copy of their diploma or transcripts which clearly indicate a BSN (or higher) nursing degree.

This information should be submitted by June 2, 2018 in order to begin receiving the premium on July 1st.  The premium will first appear on paychecks dated July 25, 2018.  Documentation submitted after June 2, 2018 will become effective July 16, 2018, or the date the documentation is submitted, whichever is later.

As a reminder, any RN with a nursing related master’s degree is also eligible to receive an additional salary step.  As a part of the BSN process, if an employee submits copies of their diploma or transcripts for the master’s degree, nursing recruiting will ensure that employees are currently receiving the additional step (if they have already submitted information on their master’s degree).  If an employee has not previously submitted information, they will receive an additional step, effective the date of their material submission.

Employees may submit the required documents in person to the HMC nursing recruitment office (Pat Steel Bldg., suite #2100 between 8am to 5pm M-F), via email to hmcnurse@uw.edu, or Fax to 206-744-9923.

Any questions may be directed to HMC nursing recruitment at 206-744-9240 or hmcnurse@uw.edu.
