BASIC FUNCTION
Coordinate availability of implant materials for surgical specialty areas.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Single class – no series. Under general direction, coordinate implant requests for surgery, ensuring implant availability, expense submission, and implant inventory management.
TYPICAL WORK
Serve as the primary point of contact for the availability of implants and related supplies needed for surgery across multiple departments;
Review surgery schedules to confirm implant needs and resolve or escalate resource conflicts;
Maintain inventory of stock to ensure next-day surgical readiness;
Submit requisitions to order implants required for surgical procedures; maintaining designated par levels;
Receive, track, distribute, and prepare/assemble implants and related supplies according to protocols and regulatory standards;
Collect and reconcile implant documentation, resolve discrepancies, verify completeness, and initiate vendor returns as needed;
Coordinate across departments to ensure timely and accurate revenue and expense capture; verify correct implant and supply usage and maintain purchase order accuracy;
May participate in the development, testing, and implementation of new supplies and equipment for the department; and
Perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School or equivalent AND two years of relevant experience in a surgical setting, including surgical products, equipment, and procedures.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
