CLASS SERIES CONCEPT
Within Continuum College, apply knowledge gained through formal education at least at the Bachelor’s level or equivalent/related experience to provide data-based analysis and decision-support for a portfolio of current and future academic programs such as professional certificates, courses, and degree programs, to ensure programmatic offerings remain fully aligned with student and organizational demands.
BASIC FUNCTION
Participate in designing, developing, and maintaining recurring surveys across various programs. Gather and analyze data, create reports, and communicate key findings to stakeholders to support decision-making.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Under general supervision, complete assigned research tasks/projects, demonstrating the ability to work independently. Know the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of research analysis, while continuing to develop technical expertise and knowledge through experience and application.
TYPICAL WORK
Independently manage recurring surveys across multiple programs, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and stakeholder presentations.
Represent the research team in client meetings and lead study design, data collection, analysis, and reporting efforts.
Conduct both primary and secondary research to evaluate academic program performance and viability.
Identify trends and deliver actionable insights using quantitative and qualitative methods to support strategic decision-making.
Provide research-based recommendations on launching new programs, modifying existing ones, or sunsetting underperforming offerings.
Collaborate with external research vendors and utilize secondary data sources.
Support research operations through report archiving and documentation of research procedures.
May direct the work of student research assistants in data collection, preparation, and reporting tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration
CIVIL SERVICE EXEMPTION
Research: Individuals having formal academic preparation at least at the Bachelor’s level or demonstrated professional competence in a specific field of research, and having responsibility for or assisting in one or more of the following tasks: Identifying and defining research problems; designing approaches or hypotheses to be tested and the methodology to be used; designing specific phases of research projects; analyzing results, developing conclusions and hypotheses; presenting research results in publishable form, and/or obtaining research grants.
