POD offers an array of development opportunities for those who supervise employees and manage teams. See below for upcoming instructor-led and self-paced online classes developed by POD exclusively for UW supervisors and managers.
In addition to the free classes listed below, POD offers:
- SLP Supervisor Orientation: Self-paced online class; take as soon as possible after starting in a supervisory role.
- Level 1 of the Strategic Leadership Program: Multi-day class with live instruction; take within your first year in a supervisory role.
- Certificate in Supervisory Skills at the UW (fee-based enrollment): Professional development certificate for those currently in, or aspiring to, a management role at the UW.
- Leadership coaching (fee-based service): Develop your leadership skills, overcome challenges, plan for the future and maximize your success through one-on-one guidance.
- UW ARC 360 (fee-based service): 360-degree feedback and development program based on competencies created by POD for specific roles at the UW, including chancellors and deans, organizational leaders, and front-line supervisors.

Curriculum design
Whether you’re pursuing the Certificate in Supervisory Skills at the UW or taking classes on an ad hoc basis, the concepts in many of POD’s classes are designed to build upon each other.
