CLASS SERIES CONCEPT

Within Continuum College, lead complex, cross-functional technical projects that support organizational technology initiatives. Oversee the project scope, schedule, budget, and risk management across multiple stakeholders and systems. Align technology solutions with strategic goals, ensuring quality delivery and facilitating collaboration between technical and non-technical teams.

BASIC FUNCTION

Perform senior-level project management duties in support of cross-functional technology initiatives. Lead projects from initiation through closure, including planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation. Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of systems, applications, and services that support organizational priorities.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Independently manage large-scale and/or high-impact technology projects with multiple stakeholders, complex integrations, and strategic significance. Operate with a high degree of autonomy and lead cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and apply both traditional and advanced project management methodologies. Provide strong technical fluency, leadership, and successful navigation through ambiguity and change.

TYPICAL WORK

Responsible for managing the full lifecycle of large-scale and/or high-impact technology projects.

Ensure successful project closure and knowledge transfer.

Develop and manage complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and governance structures.

Oversee risk management, quality assurance, and change control processes.

Lead project teams and facilitate stakeholder engagement.

Ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Identify, assess, and recommend initiatives that will help advance strategic goals, including risk analysis, business cases, skills assessments, cost estimations, and project schedules.

Actively manage the requirements process including elicitation, analysis, prioritization, documentation, and communication.

Define and re-engineer business processes and workflows.

Bridge the gaps among business users and developers to understanding the requirements, designs, and specifications of the business needs.

May supervise staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and workload management.

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration

CIVIL SERVICE EXEMPTION

Senior Computer Systems and Network Programming: Individuals having demonstrated professional competence in computer systems and network programming above the journey-level, who independently perform work assignments, and devise methods and processes to meet new and unique work requirements and problems. Employees having substantial responsibility in at least one of the following areas: Applying systems analysis techniques and procedures including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications; designing, developing, documenting, analyzing, creating, testing, or modifying computer systems or programs, including prototypes based on and related to user or system design specifications; designing, documenting, testing, creating, or modifying computer programs related to machine operating systems; or a combination of these duties, the performance of which requires the same level of skills.
