CLASS SERIES CONCEPT
Within Continuum College, provide direct support, guidance, and problem-solving assistance to students across various stages of their academic journey. Focus on student success, retention, and satisfaction through personalized communication, coaching, and administrative support.
BASIC FUNCTION
Provide individualized support to students, helping them navigate academic programs, institutional policies, and administrative processes. Serve as subject matter experts in student services. Responsible for facilitating the student experience from admission through program completion. Engage in proactive communication, resolve student issues, and contribute to the development and implementation of student support strategies.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Under general supervision, responsible for direct and sustained engagement with students involving coaching, advising, or counseling techniques. Responsible for managing a portfolio of students, interpreting and applying policies, and making day-to-day decisions that affect student progression.
TYPICAL WORK
Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of students.
Provide guidance on enrollment processes, funding options, and program navigation.
Apply advanced coaching methodologies to foster student engagement, support retention, and encourage re-enrollment.
Craft and distribute targeted communications tailored to student program milestones and individual needs.
Conduct strategic outreach campaigns via phone and email to help meet enrollment goals.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date student records.
Track student progress and status throughout the student lifecycle.
Interpret and apply institutional policies related to admissions, transfers, deferments, and withdrawals.
Serve as subject matter expert on student support policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
CIVIL SERVICE EXEMPTION
Counseling of Students: Individuals responsible for directing and/or participating in providing academic, athletic, career, medical, financial aid, student activity, and/or personal counseling to students.
