CLASS SERIES CONCEPT

Within the Institute for Health Metrics Evaluation (IHME), develop, and design publications to disseminate IHME research findings and initiatives in an accurate, attractive and accessible manner for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and the general public.

BASIC FUNCTION

Perform IHME campaign support by providing visual creative direction and execute the graphic design, layout, and final production of visual communication projects.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Under general supervision, independently provide creative direction and oversight for the conceptualization of assigned digital and print graphics projects, design and produce visual communications for IHME. Guide and mentor other designers and manage freelance designer projects, modeling high standards of quality and brand guideline adherence.

TYPICAL WORK

Perform duties of an IHME Graphic Designer I;

Work across functional and research teams to design and implement clear, accurate, and visually compelling representations of complex data in both print and digital formats;

Liaise with external vendors to secure quotes and ensure that projects move smoothly through the production process;

Create mood boards, storyboards and concept art for campaigns;

Create digital mock-ups and presentations and effectively communicate to all stakeholders;

Provide creative direction and oversight on digital and print graphic projects owning designs from initial concept creation to final sign-off;

Guide and mentor other designers, modeling high standards of quality and brand guideline adherence;

Manage any freelance design needs, furnishing assets and direction through to project completion;

May act as a project and/or team lead and provide design guidance to peers and developing designers;

Research and implement latest trends, ideas and concepts for design practices, technologies and tools; and

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts or related and five years of print and visual graphic design experience

OR

Equivalent combination of education/experience.
