CLASS SERIES CONCEPT

Within Continuum College, oversee administrative and operational functions and coordinate activities for an educational extension, continuing education program, or fee-based non-degree degree. Participate in multiple phases of activities or programs including planning, marketing, delivery, maintenance, and evaluation.

If the primary focus is to develop curriculum and related training/course materials and/or programs, then a Continuing Education Specialist job profile may be more appropriate. If the primary focus is to coordinate general academic, administrative, or operational initiatives, then a Project Manager job profile may be more appropriate.

BASIC FUNCTION

Support Continuum College’s goals through routine administrative, operational and/or educational components of continuing education activities or programs.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Under direct supervision, maintain, implement and administratively support a portfolio of courses and degree and certificate programs delivered in a variety of formats.

TYPICAL WORK

Coordinate with Continuum College and campus partners to gather and maintain accurate course and instructor information in the Continuum College database.

Manage ongoing course data to support consistent program delivery and enhance the student experience.

Serve as a point of contact for registration services staff to facilitate registration processes.

Participate in identifying and implementing improvements to operational processes and procedures for programs and courses.

Maintain communication with stakeholders, campus partners, and internal teams to proactively address and resolve operational issues.

Respond to partner inquiries and troubleshoot issues related to student fees, registrations, statuses, and course setup in the student information system.

Coordinate with the fiscal services staff on fee rate discrepancies and student information system configurations.

Support budget preparation and program setup in collaboration with fiscal services staff.

Process contracts for guest speakers and other program-related needs.

May assist with onboarding and training staff.

May assign tasks to student assistants as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

CIVIL SERVICE EXEMPTION

Continuing Education: Individuals that have responsibility for administrative, operational and/or educational components of extension or continuing education activities or programs.
