Meet our 2023 campaign assistants

The 2023 UWCFD campaign assistants, Betsy, Jack and Sarah, tour the Burke Museum as part of a larger campus tour of organizations and units UW employees can support through the UWCFD.

The UWCFD is delighted to welcome our 2023 campaign assistants, who will work closely with volunteer campaign coordinators from across the UW’s three campuses and the UW hospitals to make this year’s workplace giving campaign a resounding success.

At the iconic Four Columns in Sylvan Grove.

Campaign assistants make a positive impact in the community by implementing strategies to maximize workplace givingā€”helping out with events from chili cook-offs and bake sales to online auctions, movie nights and puppy cuddling sessions-all for the greater good.

This year’s featured nonprofit organization is National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Seattle. NAMI is a mental health organization that addresses gaps and unmet mental health needs within the local community of Seattle through education, support, referral, and outreach. The largest grassroots mental health organization in the country, NAMI reminds those impacted by mental illness that they are not alone.

Sarah is joining the UW Combined Fund Drive this year as a campaign assistant. Sarah recently moved to Seattle after attending University of Nebraska-Lincoln and earning degrees in communication studies and mathematics. Through work with the CFD, she is excited to learn about, collaborate with, and support the many nonprofits in her new home.

Sarah is passionate about helping everyone find a way to support the causes they care about and wants to help UW employees make the change they hope to see in the world. When she is not working with her team at CFD, she can be found playing ultimate frisbee, swinging her way around a dance floor, and sewing up a storm.
