DEFINITION
Lead and work with electricians to perform journey-level electrical work.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Positions in this class are distinguished by responsibility to lead journey electricians on a project or at a job location, to instruct other assigned workers, to correct and specify methods, and to perform skilled electrical repair and installation work.
TYPICAL WORK
Perform all duties of an electrician;
Lead assigned personnel in the performance of work;
Assure adherence to safety rules and precautions by assigned personnel;
Develop preliminary cost estimates for installation and repair;
Develop methods and procedures to be followed by assigned personnel;
May perform work in other trades;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One-year, full-time experience as a journey electrician or equivalent trade skill. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
