BASIC FUNCTION

Provide copy service through the coordination of activities at assigned copy centers.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Under general direction, coordinate the daily operations of two or more full-service copy centers. Receive, prioritize and process work orders; resolve production conflicts; maintain production and cash sales records; prepare materials for billings and perform routine equipment maintenance. Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others, including student and/or hourly employees in a production environment; assist in performance evaluation of others.

TYPICAL WORK

Receive and evaluate work orders to establish and assign job priorities; work with clients and staff at other copy centers to determine production needs, meet production requirements and deadlines;

Train employees in all aspects of the centers operation;

Schedule production;

Assist clients with digital technology including file transfers, printing from disk, etc;

Provide outstanding customer service;

Maintain work records and prepare reports;

Operate cash register; maintain cash account and billing records;

Operate copy-related computer programs such as Copy Services on-line forms and databases, including the Course Pak Database and the Copyright Permissions Database;

Operate photocopy and related equipment; check performance of equipment and perform regular diagnostic and maintenance tasks; schedule maintenance and service calls as required;

Understand and enforce departmental copyright procedures;

Order supplies and maintain inventory;

Operate small bindery equipment and other peripherals;

Prepare paperwork and deposit reports for accounting /billing units;

Perform duties of Copy Machine Operator Lead;

Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – UW Contract Classified
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS – Classified Non-Union

High school graduation or GED certificate AND one year of experience as a Copy Center Coordinator 1.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
