BASIC FUNCTION
Within UW central receiving, lead staff and oversee receiving, inspecting, documenting, and staging goods for distribution.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others.
TYPICAL WORK
Assign, instruct, and review the work of Central Receiving Coordinator;
Serve as the primary point of escalation for operational issues, shipping delays, or discrepancies;
Oversee all inbound campus deliveries at the designated Central Receiving facility;
Verify accuracy of records, ensure record receipt of goods;
Collaborate with procurement, shared services, and departments to support operational needs;
Audit uploaded packing slips and related documentation;
Ensure compliance with UW financial controls and documentation standards;
Oversee delivery prioritization and determine operational needs;
Manage chain-of-custody systems;
Inspect shipments for accuracy, completeness, and visible damage;
Contribute to performance evaluations and onboarding of new staff;
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery;
Track key operational metrics (e.g. turnaround time, error rate, etc.);
Operate university vehicles to make deliveries across campus as needed;
Perform the duties of Central Receiving Coordinator;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduation or equivalent AND three years’ experience in receiving logistics, warehousing, mailing services logistics, or supply chain operations; valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
