BASIC FUNCTION

Lead assigned staff and maintain overall supply and equipment inventory; oversee preventative maintenance of equipment relating to anesthetic care.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Under general direction, lead Anesthesiology Technicians; and coordinate equipment and supply inventory and preventative maintenance program.

TYPICAL WORK

Regularly assign, instruct, and check the work of the employees; assist in training of Anesthesiology Technicians;

Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions;

Assist in the coordination of technical services between the department and all anesthesiology locations in the hospital;

Maintain equipment and supply inventories;

Oversee preventative maintenance program for equipment;

Perform duties of Anesthesiology Technician II;

Repair anesthesia and physiological monitoring equipment;

Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate of Arts Degree in Biomedical Electronics; OR two years of postsecondary education/training with emphasis in the sciences and two years of experience as an Anesthesiology Technician II or equivalent; OR three years of experience as an Anesthesiology Technician II or equivalent.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
