One Seattle Day of Service: Clean Up the U-District

Like all of us, every now and again the U-District needs a little TLC. If you’d like to help beautify the neighborhood around the University of Washington’s Seattle campus, then please join The Whole U, the UW Combined Fund Drive and UW Medicine for a U-District Clean Up on Saturday, May 18, as part of the One Seattle Day of Service.

The city-wide day of community volunteering was established by Mayor Bruce Harrell’s administration to call on residents and civic leaders to give back and take action to improve the city.

A wide array of service opportunities all over the map will activate a diverse group of public, private and nonprofit partners and community organizations. They include gardening, restoration, service to neighbors in need and a variety of cleaning and beautification projects.

The UW team of weekend cleaning warriors will be collecting trash in the U-District from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

After registering for this event, meet group leader Christina Federhart, special projects and operations analyst at UW Medicine, at Herkimer Coffee at 9:30 a.m. on May 18. All necessary tools will be provided. And further details will be emailed to you upon registration.
