Volunteers needed at the U District Food Bank

Are you interested in working toward greater food security in Northeast Seattle? Do you have a passion for equity, nutrition, food access? Come volunteer with the University District Food Bank!

We need you to help ensure that food is available to those who need it most. Summer is our lowest season for volunteers, and if you are looking for a fun way to get involved, we have opportunities to get you involved!

We can provide you with an experience for job skills and references when applying for jobs, experience for scholarships and school applications, not to mention making friends and the happiness that comes from participating in a collective effort for the good for others.

We are working hard to serve folks as covid benefits are ending and inflation is high. We regularly serve over 1300 families each week through our programs and seek to be a resource in the community for anyone in NE Seattle who is struggling with hunger. We are located at 5017 Roosevelt Way NE in the U district.

Volunteers help us: Sort donations, check in customers, bag up groceries, ride out to pick up donations at groceries stores, deliver groceries to home bound customers, stock shelves and succeed at our mission and serve our community with dignity and respect.

We will reach out within a week with a welcome email. There is a brief orientation to attend and you can set the schedule that works for you! We have shifts available Monday-Saturday, and you have your choice of self scheduling shifts.
