New and Events

Welcome to July – it’s thee Dog Days of Summer month!

Tova

If it seems like the world around you has gone new pet crazy, you’re right. It has. Pandemic pets are a real phenomenon. Avowed “We’ll never get a pet” people are lining up around the region to bring home their newest family member.

The Mason-Gibson family is happily among them. Since we’re all home for the foreseeable future, I’ve caved into my kids request to get kitten – not a full grown cat. Did you know you can’t get just one kitten? I do now. They need a playmate to keep them engaged.  Now that we’ve welcomed Greta (below)  and Tova (right) to the family, I can see why they need each other.

Greta

If you have the space and the ability, this is a great time to get a pet and spend some time bonding. Spending the weekend watching the girls play and sleep made me feel so happy and relaxed – the family too. These sweet kitties are making our family like better already. Watching them play with the kids and seeing all the bonding – my heart felt full.

There are so many great rescue and animal adoption programs in the region. Check them out! Maybe you can find a new friend, volunteer opportunity (foster pets, anyone?) or support some of these great programs that are helping connect companion animals to their new home.
