Support for your well-being

A variety of free resources are available to help assist you and your family through this time, from counseling and self-care offerings to supports to help cope with financial uncertainty. You can access most of these free resources right away.

Use the UW’s Employee Assistance Program (WA EAP) to talk with someone confidentially about what you’re feeling. Take note: This resource is for all benefits- eligible employees and their household members while employees are on furlough or for up to 30 days following layoff.

Access this resource guide for navigating difficult times to connect to energy, food, and housing assistance information; legal and financial assistance resources; crisis and emergency support resources; and mental health and substance use and addiction resources. You can also call 211 or visit the 211 website to connect to community resources statewide, including food, shelter, job searching, mental health and many other topics.

The UW Food Pantry | Any Hungry Husky provides UW students, staff, and faculty facing short-term food insecurity with shelf-stable groceries and seasonal fresh produce at no cost.

The Center for Child and Family Well-Being (CCFW) offers a continuously updated Resource Library with tools to support well-being in children, youth, families, and professionals.

View this WA EAP Stress Management webinar on demand. This 33-minute webinar provides a three-option method for addressing any stressful situation, as well as a toolbox of personal skills, including using routines, relaxation techniques, and a stress log system. It also explores what lifestyle elements can be changed to reduce stress.

Access The Whole U Self-Care Toolkit for short, simple and easy-to-do-anywhere resources to help you stay grounded.

Keep moving with the UW community with the Daily 15-Minute Moving Break at 11 a.m. each weekday and Virtual Weight Training every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:15 a.m.

Follow guided meditation sessions hosted by The Whole U and led by University of Washington faculty and staff to help reduce stress and increase calmness.
