BASIC FUNCTION
Lead nuclear medicine technologists; perform complex nuclear medicine examinations of patients such as bicycle stress radionuclide ventriculogram, treadmill cardiac perfusion, and pharmacologic stress cardiac perfusion; provide expertise to support nuclear medicine clinical services; monitor equipment status; present inservices and instruction on examinations.

Regularly assign, instruct, and check the work of others. Under general direction, exercise advanced technical knowledge in a specific area of expertise such as clinical computer application or examination protocol development.
TYPICAL WORK
Regularly assign, instruct, and check the work of others; provide feedback on performance;
Assist with the instruction of fellows, residents, technologists and students in clinical application and techniques;
Review and report daily operational status of equipment, initiate repair service calls; document malfunctions;
Assist in completion of cost analyses and budget monitoring and planning;
Initiate orders for supplies and equipment;
Present general and specialty area inservices;
Perform the duties of nuclear medicine technologists;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - UW Contract Classified
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS - Classified Non-Union
Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine AND one year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist II
OR
equivalent education/experience.
Legal Requirement
Certification as a Radiologic Technologist -
Nuclear Medicine in the State of Washington.
