DEFINITION
Lead and work with glaziers using journey-level skills in working with glass.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Positions in this class are distinguished by the responsibility to lead journey glaziers, to assign work at a project or job location, to instruct other assigned workers, to correct procedures and specify methods, and to perform skilled work in the glazier trade.
TYPICAL WORK
Perform all duties of a glazier;
Lead assigned personnel in the performance of work;
Assure adherence to safety rules and precautions by assigned personnel;
As required, develop preliminary cost estimates for installation, construction, and repairs;
As required, develop methods and procedures to be followed by assigned personnel;
May perform work in other trades;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - UW Contract Classified
One-year, full-time experience as a journey glazier or equivalent trade skill. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Examination Requirements:
A job element examination (including written, E & T and oral components) scored on the basis of job related experience, training, skill, ability and other elements which are established through job analysis.
