BASIC FUNCTION

Lead radiation therapy technology staff and perform specialized radiation therapy procedures.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Under general direction, regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others. Perform specialized radiation therapy procedures such as cyclotron-based neutron radiotherapy, fractionated stereotactic radiosurgery, intraoperative electron beam radiotherapy, dose-intensive conformal radiotherapy, intensity-modulated radiotherapy, and the treatment of pediatric patients under general anesthesia.

TYPICAL WORK

Regularly assign, instruct, and check the work of radiation therapy technologists and other assigned staff; make recommendations regarding performance evaluations;

Perform specialized radiation therapy procedures such as cyclotron-based neutron radiotherapy, fractionated stereotactic radiosurgery, intraoperative electron beam radiotherapy, dose-intensive conformal radiotherapy, intensity-modulated radiotherapy, and the treatment of pediatric patients under general anesthesia;

Lead technologists with tumor localization procedures; assist with the development and testing of new radiation therapy techniques; recommend new procedures;

Perform the duties of a Radiation Therapy Technologist;

Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - UW Contract Classified
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS - Classified Non-Union

Registered in Radiation Therapy Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; AND one year of experience as a Radiation Therapy Technologist

equivalent education/experience.
