BASIC FUNCTION

Lead traffic guides in the collection and accountability of parking fees, parking assignment, and screening of incoming and exiting traffic.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Lead Traffic Guides.

TYPICAL WORK

Lead Traffic Guides in parking control activities;

Perform Traffic Guide duties;

Instruct personnel in policies and procedures of gatehouse operation;

Assure adherence to safety rules and precaution;

Assist Campus Police Officers with traffic control in emergency situations;

Perform minor maintenance of parking facilities;

May be required to perform first aid;

Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - UW Contract Classified
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS - Classified Non-Union

High School Diploma, or equivalent; one year experience as a Traffic Guide or equivalent; possession of a valid driver's license.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
