CLASS SERIES CONCEPT
Provide specialized support to an institution's affirmative action/human rights function.
Perform a variety of paraprofessional duties and provide specialized support to an institution's affirmative action/equal opportunity program. Apply specialized knowledge to resolve problems and interpret rules.
Under general supervision, perform a variety of paraprofessional duties such as monitoring search processes and making recommendation for approval of hires, and assisting professional staff in recruiting for and maintaining vacancy pools. Coordinate the operational aspects of AA/EEO programs and provide specialized support such as maintaining computerized databases, preparing statistical and narrative reports, and developing and maintaining resource materials, in one or more affirmative action functional areas.
Interpret and explain institutional procedures, rules, and policies to departments and search committees during the recruitment process for faculty and exempt employees;
Monitor search process, maintain documentation and make recommendation for approval of exempt and faculty hires;
Maintain confidential records; coordinate the maintenance of computerized information management systems regarding affirmative action recruitment and other AA/EEO related activities; compile data, and prepare statistical and narrative reports; assist with preparation of annual affirmative action plan;
Develop and implement internal office procedures; recommend changes in program procedures or rules to facilitate program effectiveness;
Monitor budget status to conform to program activities, plans or priorities; maintain budget(s) and initiate corrective action; initiate and/or approve expenditures;
Provide information to faculty, staff, students and applicants regarding institutional non-discrimination policies; assist in developing and implementing training programs to inform campus community of institutional procedures and/or state and federal non-discrimination laws;
Perform general office support;
Represent the director or representative at meetings and conferences;
Direct the work of others;
Perform related duties as required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS - Classified Non-Union
High school graduation AND four years of office experience, including one year of experience with equal opportunity programs
