Payroll Title Production Manager
Typical Responsibilities

Oversees the work of an in-house production and design staff, as well as freelance designers and book packagers, to meet University Press production requirements. Exercises discretion and independent judgment to direct the production, design, scheduling, and manufacture of 60-80 new books and 40-50 reprints annually. Evaluates and selects book-manufacturing vendors for book projects. Provides accurate cost estimates and production advice to the director, acquisition editors, and marketing manager.

Supervisory Responsibility

Positions in this series are not required to supervise staff.

Overtime Eligibility

FLSA overtime status is based on the position's duties and responsibilities, and whether or not the position's gross salary is less than the federal FLSA salary basis test or the Washington state salary basis test, whichever is higher. Professional Staff Exemption

Graphic Arts and Publications: Individuals having prescribed academic preparation or special training in the fields of graphic arts, printing and publications, and who are assigned to a major academic or administrative unit and who are responsible for the development and design of scholarly or related publications, or the full range of printing and publication activities.
