Payroll Title Compliance Analyst
Typical Responsibilities

In a technically complex area, conducts compliance analysis, audits, reviews, and investigations in external departments and/or organizations. Applies knowledge of technical area to assess review results, draw conclusions, and recommend or advise management on necessary corrective actions.Examples of responsibilities: - Work plan/audit plan development, - Operations investigations, surveys, reviews, and audits, - Statistical and data analysis to assess compliance, - Policy development, revision, or review, - Audit report and corrective action recommendation preparation, - Compliance education and outreach, and - Regulatory agency consultation.

Supervisory Responsibility

Direct supervision of staff is not required within this series.

Overtime Eligibility

FLSA overtime status is based on the position's duties and responsibilities, and whether or not the position's gross salary is less than the federal FLSA salary basis test or the Washington state salary basis test, whichever is higher. Professional Staff Exemption

Internal Audits and Investigations: Individuals responsible for examining and analyzing fiscal or other administrative records and practices of the institution for compliance with various internal and external regulations and policies, effectiveness of established controls, efficiency of operations, and accuracy of reports and records. Individuals report to management on audit results and make recommendations for improving operations, and/or resolving complaints regarding improper practices

Alternative Payroll Titles

If this position supervises 2.0 FTE or more involved in compliance, audits and/or investigative activities and is responsible for ensuring compliance in a specific area, consider the Compliance Analyst Manager.When position is focused on performing internal audits of financial, operational, and system audits practices, consider the Auditor title.If the position does not have responsibility for ensuring compliance with regulations or policies of other departments and/or organizations, rather is responsible for the operations and results of a program, consider titles in the Program Direction/Control exemption.

Limitations

Positions are generally limited to organizations that have responsibility for ensuring that external departments and/or organizations meet compliance regulations, policies, or rules in an auditing, investigation, or oversight role.
