Graphic Arts and Publications: Individuals having prescribed academic preparation or special training in the fields of graphic arts, printing and publications, and who are assigned to a major academic or administrative unit and who are responsible for the development and design of scholarly or related publications, or the full range of printing and publication activities.

If the primary focus of the position is writing, developing, editing, and maintaining website content to inform the public, the Web Information Specialist may be a more appropriate payroll title.If the primary focus of the position is developing, installing, and maintaining web applications, web servers, database drivers, web software development utilities, and related web system software, the Web Computer Specialist may be a more appropriate payroll title.
Work performed by positions in this exemption requires specialized knowledge typically acquired through formal education and training in graphic arts or related field. Typical degrees in this area are Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or Master of Fine Arts (MFA). Other degrees that might apply would be a Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Arts or Visual Communications.
