This page applies to all staff, academic personnel, and student employees.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If your leave is covered by FMLA or PFML<\/a>, the University will continue to pay its employer portion of your health insurance. You will still be responsible for any portion of your benefits that you normally pay.<\/p>\n

Benefits when FMLA leave is exhausted<\/h4>\n

Once your 12 weeks of FMLA is exhausted, if you are going to be absent from work for a full calendar month, the University will continue paying its portion of your health insurance if you remain in pay status for at least eight hours that month.<\/p>\n

To remain in pay status, you must do one of the following:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Work at least eight hours (must be medically cleared if leave is for a personal medical reason)<\/li>\n
  • Use at least eight hours of accrued time off (e.g., sick, vacation, discretionary, compensatory time off; holiday credit; or personal holiday)<\/li>\n
  • For faculty, maintain a .05 appointment percent (must be medically cleared if leave is for a personal medical reason)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
