The project was internally-focused to review the SMART Center’s leadership and organizational structure. The goal of this process was to strengthen team culture and leadership structure, redefine leadership roles, and build employee alignment and belonging in order to achieve the SMART Center’s mission of improving school-based mental/behavioral health. Koné conducted staff interviews, an online survey, and ecocycle planning sessions with PODs. Key themes from the data collection process were presented back to the steering committee in the form of a data walk. The team also hosted a series of planning workshops with the steering committee to develop the vision, goals, and performance measures for the strategic plan. The plan was finalized and presented to UW SMART Center staff on September 18, 2024.

University of Washington AIMS Center – Strategic Planning Facilitation and Organizational Development (April 2019-August 2020)

Koné Consulting, in partnership with Full Circle Associates, facilitated a strategic planning process with the University of Washington AIMS Center. In 2019 the AIMS Center celebrated 15 years disseminating and implementing integrated care locally, nationally and internationally. The purpose of the strategic planning process was to create a framework for the strategic allocation of AIMS Center resources to realize maximum impact achieving their mission in a complex and shifting landscape. Koné Consulting conducted 30 interviews with a broad range of stakeholders and facilitated 10 workshops with AIMS Center teams centered around organizational purpose and the complexity concept of the Ecocyle to analyze work activities and relationships to identify obstacles and opportunities for progress. The Koné Consulting team facilitated a two-day strategic planning retreat through an engaging, effective, and dynamic process called Knotworking that keeps the complexity of challenges intact, balances predictability and unpredictability, and widens the circle of participation. This process, using facilitation methods called Liberating Structures, creates a living plan to deliver high value, actionable next steps and an ability to flex and evolve in rapidly changing contexts.

CREDENTIALS

Master in Public Administration University of Washington, Evans School of Public Affairs

Bachelor of Arts in Sociology University of Washington

Certified in Hogan Leadership Assessment

Certified in several Institute of Cultural Affairs, Technology of Participation Methods

SELECTED CLIENTS

Feeding America

Center on Budget and Policy Priorities

University of Washington

Washington State Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Employment Security

Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner and Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction

PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT Our purpose is to inspire change and create lasting improvements for our clients in government and nonprofit sectors.
