This was the tenth session to be facilitated by a State-appointed mediator. Recaps are published online on the <a href=\"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/labor\/unions\/uw-housestaff-association\/negotiation-updates\">UW Labor Relations website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Counter Proposals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Moonlighting<\/strong> \u2013 The Union presented a counter on moonlighting, but the parties remain apart regarding how much of the moonlighting policy should be codified within the CBA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sick Leave<\/strong> \u2013 In response to the Union, the Employer proposed to mirror ACGME requirements stating that residents must be given the opportunity to attend medical, mental health (including GME Wellness Service appointments), optical, and dental care appointments, including those scheduled during their working hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Union Activities<\/strong> \u2013 The parties continued to exchange proposals in an effort toward a shared understanding of contract language regarding use of state resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Committee Memberships<\/strong> \u2013 The parties continued to exchange proposals in an effort toward a shared understanding of contract language regarding voting privileges by a designee and\/or substitute on a committee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Steps <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The next UW and UWHA bargaining session is scheduled for May 14.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background This recap details the thirtieth session and fourth virtual session for the renewal of the collective bargaining agreement between the UW and UWHA.
