This was the first session to be facilitated by a State-appointed mediator.\u00a0 Recaps are published online on the <a href=\"http:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/labor\/unions\/seiu-1199\/negotiation-updates\">UW Labor Relations website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tentative Agreements <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The parties spent time with the mediator individually and in a joint sidebar.\u00a0 The parties signed tentative agreements to close the following provisions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Article 8 \u2013 Educational and Professional Development<\/li>\n<li>Article 9 \u2013 Salaries\/Pay Items (moved into new wages article)<\/li>\n<li>Article 12 \u2013 Premium Pay<\/li>\n<li>Article 15 \u2013 Leaves of Absence<\/li>\n<li>Article 21 \u2013 Corrective Action\/Dismissal Process and\/or Resignation<\/li>\n<li>MOU \u2013 Successor Agreement<\/li>\n<li>MOU \u2013 Pre-scheduling Overtime Shifts for Permanent Nurses<\/li>\n<li>New MOU \u2013 Registered Nurse Pay Table<\/li>\n<li>New MOU \u2013 Non-monetary Steps<\/li>\n<li>New MOU \u2013 Healthcare Specialist Wage Increases (step-for-step)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Next Steps <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The next UW-SEIU 1199 bargaining sessions are scheduled for August 8 and August 9.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background This recap details the 17th session for the renewal of the collective bargaining agreement between the UW and SEIU 1199, which expired as of July 1, 2017.
