\n\n\nHow can I check the status of a job I\u2019ve applied to?<\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n
\nCheck the ‘My Applications’ tab in the Jobs Hub and review the status. Below are descriptions of each of the statuses:<\/p>\n

- In Progress:<\/strong> Your application has been received and University of Washington Human Resources (UWHR) is reviewing your resume for minimum qualifications and eligibility.<\/li>\n
- Sent to dept:<\/strong> UWHR has reviewed your resume and sent it to the department\u2019s hiring manager. The department will select the most qualified candidates for interviews and may contact you via phone or email. The information in your candidate profile will be used to contact you, so be sure to keep your information up to date.<\/li>\n
- Not selected:<\/strong> You were not selected for this position. This status can occur at any time after application \u2013 during UWHR review or during hiring manager review.<\/li>\n
- Withdrew:<\/strong> You asked to be removed from consideration for the position.<\/li>\n
- Recruitment Canceled:<\/strong> Recruitment was canceled by the department, so the position will not be filled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The total time it takes to fill any position varies. UWHR\u2019s recruitment teams review applications to help identify candidates for each position. Hiring departments only contact the most competitive candidates to interview.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n\nCan I still use Jobs Hub if my current position is ending?<\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n
\nIf your UW employment is ending soon \u2014 whether through resignation, layoff, the end of a non-permanent appointment, or another reason \u2014 apply for UW jobs through the external jobs site instead of the internal Jobs Hub. This will ensure you can still log in and track your application after your employment ends. When applying externally, select \u201cI have previously worked for the University of Washington\u201d so your application is processed correctly. While you are still an active employee, you may use Jobs Hub to apply for \u201cOpen to UW Employee\u201d opportunities, but be sure to update your profile with your personal email and phone number.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n\nCan I search only by keywords in the job title?<\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n
\nNot at this time. Keyword searches will scan both the job title and the job description, which may pull in broader results. Improving search functionality is a priority for the next phase of the project as we refine the applicant experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n\nDo saved searches automatically update when new jobs are posted?<\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n
\nWhen you return to Jobs Hub and re-run your search, the system will pull in all current postings that match your criteria, including any new ones since you last searched.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n\nCan I see a record of the jobs I applied for in UWHIRES (the old application system)?<\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n
\nNo. UW is not able to provide applicant records from UWHIRES. Going forward, any applications you submit will be stored in our new Workday Recruiting system and viewable in Jobs Hub.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n\nDo I have to re-enter my work experience every time I apply?<\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n
\nYes. Each application requires you to complete the full application form, including entering work experience and education. The system does not carry information forward from previous applications.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n\nHow many past positions should I list on my application? <\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n
\nList the positions most relevant to the job you\u2019re applying for, typically covering the last five to seven years. You don\u2019t need to enter your entire career history in the application, especially if you\u2019ve held many roles. On your r\u00e9sum\u00e9, include a fuller picture of your work history, focusing on the roles and experiences that best showcase your background.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n\nHow can I update my name\/address\/email\/phone number?<\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n

\n\nCan I replace the resume or cover letter I uploaded after submitting my application?<\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n
