This significant shift is driven by the desire for an improved user experience, better security and enhanced data analytics capabilities, all of which will streamline and elevate the way we recruit and hire staff at the UW.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uwhr-toc-top-btn\"><a href=\"#toc\">Return to top<\/a><\/p><h4 id=\"why-workday-recruiting\">Why Workday Recruiting?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Improved Experience:<\/strong> A more modern and user-friendly interface.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Data-Driven Insights:<\/strong> Advanced analytics allow for smarter, more informed recruitment decisions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Integration Efficiencies:<\/strong> Seamlessly connected to other Workday modules, improving the onboarding process for new hires, streamlining workflows, and enhancing data consistency and security.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a huge step forward in modernizing our recruitment practices, and we couldn\u2019t be more excited for what\u2019s ahead!<\/p>\n<p class=\"uwhr-toc-top-btn\"><a href=\"#toc\">Return to top<\/a><\/p><h4 id=\"introducing-the-implement-adapt-and-evolve-strategy\">Introducing the Implement, Adapt, and Evolve strategy<\/h4>\n<p>To optimize the implementation timeline, we will be utilizing a phased implementation strategy called <strong>Implement, Adapt, and Evolve.<\/strong> This more iterative approach allows us to launch the Workday module quickly with core functionality and provides the opportunity to continuously refine the system based on feedback and data to meet UW\u2019s evolving needs. The strategy provides for a gentler transition to the new platform while working to minimize disruption to current recruiting and Workday workflows and resources.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how the process will unfold:<\/p>\n<h5>1. Implement (September 2024 &#8211; August 2025)<\/h5>\n<p>The first phase will focus on launching the essential features of Workday Recruiting by August 18, 2025. During this time, our team will design, configure, and test the system to ensure it meets UW\u2019s recruitment needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to expect:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A new application experience for job candidates.<\/li>\n<li>Launch of the core Workday Recruiting functionalities to replace UWHIRES.<\/li>\n<li>Minimal changes to existing workflows already performed in Workday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>2. Adapt (August 2025 &#8211; May 2026)<\/h5>\n<p>Once Workday Recruiting is live, we\u2019ll enter a 9-month Adapt phase, focusing on refining and enhancing the system. During this time, we will gather feedback from users and utilize data insights to introduce more sophisticated features and adjustments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to expect:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On-going platform and process improvements based on user feedback.<\/li>\n<li>New and enhanced platform features and capabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Support for evolving recruitment needs.<\/li>\n<li>Development of the long-term module support strategy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>3. Evolve (May 2026 and beyond)<\/h5>\n<p>Following the Adapt phase, we will continue to monitor and adjust the system based on ongoing needs and workforce data. More details about cutover will be shared <strong>Spring 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\">\n<div id=\"headingFive\" class=\"panel-heading\">\n<h5 class=\"panel-title\"><a class=\"collapsed panel-link\" href=\"#collapseFive\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\">Will Workday Recruiting affect sourcing or hiring for student assistants or academic student employees? <i class=\"fa panel-title-icon\"><\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapseFive\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\">\n<p>At go-live, only those employee populations currently handled in UWHIRES or UTemp Hires will transition to Workday Recruiting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\">\n<div id=\"headingSix\" class=\"panel-heading\">\n<h5 class=\"panel-title\"><a class=\"collapsed panel-link\" href=\"#collapseSix\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\">Will hiring managers and HR partners have access to their UWHIRES hiring history?<i class=\"fa panel-title-icon\"><\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapseSix\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\">\n<p>While hiring history from UWHIRES can&#8217;t be converted to Workday, we are working on plans for how hiring managers and HR partners can access historical hiring data post-implementation and will share details as we learn more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\">\n<div id=\"headingSeven\" class=\"panel-heading\">\n<h5 class=\"panel-title\"><a class=\"collapsed panel-link\" href=\"#collapseSeven\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\">Will Workday Recruiting include any AI resume screening features at go-live?<i class=\"fa panel-title-icon\"><\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapseSeven\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\">\n<p>No, our focus for go-live is on launching core functionalities that support UW\u2019s existing hiring processes. AI resume screening is not part of the initial scope for Workday Recruiting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\">\n<div id=\"headingEight\" class=\"panel-heading\">\n<h5 class=\"panel-title\"><a class=\"collapsed panel-link\" href=\"#collapseEight\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\">Will Workday Recruiting increase departmental access to recruiting data? <i class=\"fa panel-title-icon\"><\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapseEight\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\">\n<p>Workday will enable department-level reporting not available in UWHIRES. At go-live, departments will have access to Workday-delivered dashboards and reports. Then, during the Adapt phase, we can fine-tune or develop new reports based on institutional needs and user feedback.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\">\n<div id=\"headingNine\" class=\"panel-heading\">\n<h5 class=\"panel-title\"><a class=\"collapsed panel-link\" href=\"#collapseNine\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\">Will Workday Recruiting make the hiring process faster\/more efficient?<i class=\"fa panel-title-icon\"><\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapseNine\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\">\n<p>While we certainly hope Workday Recruiting will reduce manual steps and improve workflows, it\u2019s not a magic wand that can make the complex work of the hiring process go away \u2013 the work is still the work and the hiring process, which relies on many humans and their very busy calendars, simply takes time.<\/p>\n<p>Having said that, we are optimistic that Workday Recruiting will deliver a more modern and improved experience for our candidates, provide deeper analytics that will better inform recruiting decisions, and can be more easily adapted over time to meet the ever-evolving needs of the workforce and our University.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\">\n<div id=\"headingTen\" class=\"panel-heading\">\n<h5 class=\"panel-title\"><a class=\"collapsed panel-link\" href=\"#collapseTen\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\">How can I help staff understand the coming change?<i class=\"fa panel-title-icon\"><\/i><\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapseTen\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\">\n<p>Direct staff to the <a href=\"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/jobs\/internal-applicants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Workday Jobs Hub for Internal Applicants<\/a> web page, where they can learn about the new internal applicant experience, mark their calendars for upcoming Lunch &amp;
