As competency check-offs allow during the course of the training program, learn to independently perform assigned tasks to support clinic operations in tandem with skill reinforcement and refinement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Participate in on-the-job training to:<\/p>\n<p>Build skills to perform tests such as visual acuity assessments, visual field determinations, intraocular pressure checks using a variety of devices, and other objective eye assessments;<\/p>\n<p>Build skills to perform Humphrey Visual Field testing, and other imaging modalities;<\/p>\n<p>Build skills to perform manifest refractions;<\/p>\n<p>Build skills to assist with minor in-office procedures;<\/p>\n<p>Document chief complaint and medical history in the electronic medical record;<\/p>\n<p>Report results to physician by documenting in the electronic medical record and\/or<br \/>\nproviding verbal reports;<\/p>\n<p>Review medical records and note need for specific testing prior to physician examination;<\/p>\n<p>Administer topical medications, such as eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye, under physician direction;<\/p>\n<p>Develop advanced skills to be able to perform the work of an Ophthalmic Technician 1;<\/p>\n<p>Perform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High school graduation or GED<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>New Class: 04-01-2025<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 18420 (NE S SEIU 925 HCP\/LT) 23695 (NE H NI SEIU 925 HCP\/LT) BASIC FUNCTION Participate in on-the-job training;
