Typical Responsibilities<\/strong>
\nIn a technically complex area, supervises a staff of at least 2.0 FTE involved in compliance analysis, audits, reviews and investigations in external departments and\/or organizations. Oversees area of compliance; drafts, revises, or recommends and\/or approves policies related to area of compliance responsibility; develops audit or review plan for group; and manages budgets, staffing, and business unit administrative operations. May also perform work of compliance analyst in addition to management responsibilities. Examples of responsibilities: – Work plan\/audit plan development, – Operations investigations, surveys, reviews, and audits, – Statistical and data analysis to assess compliance, – Policy development, revision, or review, – Audit report and corrective action recommendation preparation, – Compliance education and outreach, and – Regulatory agency consultation.<\/p>\n

Supervisory Responsibility<\/strong>
\nPositions must supervise at least 2.0 FTE. Supervisors have the authority to hire staff, evaluate job performance, and take corrective action if performance is not acceptable.<\/p>\n

Overtime Eligibility<\/strong>
\nFLSA overtime status is based on the position’s duties and responsibilities, and whether or not the position’s gross salary is less than the federal FLSA salary basis test or the Washington state salary basis test, whichever is higher. Professional Staff Exemption<\/strong>
\nInternal Audits and Investigations: Individuals responsible for examining and analyzing fiscal or other administrative records and practices of the institution for compliance with various internal and external regulations and policies, effectiveness of established controls, efficiency of operations, and accuracy of reports and records. Individuals report to management on audit results and make recommendations for improving operations, and\/or resolving complaints regarding improper practices<\/p>\n

\nRegulatory Affairs Manager, Human Subjects Review Administrator, Program Compliance Manager.<\/p>\n

Alternative Payroll Titles<\/strong>
\nIf this position does not supervises 2.0 FTE or more involved in compliance activities, consider the Compliance Analyst. When position is focused on performing internal audits of financial, operational, compliance, and system audits practices, consider the Auditor title. If the position does not have responsibility for ensuring compliance with regulations or policies of other departments and\/or organizations, rather is responsible for the operations and results of a program, consider titles in the Program Direction\/Control exemption.<\/p>\n
