Typical Responsibilities<\/strong>
\nFor a specific and definable program, typically an academic department, division, or large program, regularly performs professional level program administration and management of a non-routine nature which requires independent judgment and making decisions. Utilizes specialized program knowledge to establish and maintain policies and procedures for administrative areas, such as budgeting, academic program administration, finance, grant management, human resources administration, space planning, administrative systems, gifts, and development. Responsible for program(s) results.<\/p>\n

Supervisory Responsibility<\/strong>
\nSupervision of staff is not required, but is commonly found at higher grades in the series. Supervisors have the authority to hire staff, evaluate job performance, and take corrective action if performance is not acceptable.<\/p>\n

Overtime Eligibility<\/strong>
\nFLSA overtime status is based on the position’s duties and responsibilities, and whether or not the position’s gross salary is less than the federal FLSA salary basis test or the Washington state salary basis test, whichever is higher. Professional Staff Exemption<\/strong>
\nProgram Direction\/Control: Managerial or professional level positions having substantial responsibility for directing or controlling program operations and who are accountable for the allocations of resources and program results.<\/p>\n

Alternative Payroll Titles<\/strong>
\nIf the position reports to an Executive Head, the Principal Assistant to an Executive Head exemption may also be considered – including the “Administrator” payroll title if the position is in an academic department.<\/p>\n

Limitations<\/strong>
