{"id":8610,"date":"2025-04-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=8610"},"modified":"2026-07-06T11:12:27","modified_gmt":"2026-07-06T18:12:27","slug":"checklist-create-regular-represented-cses-position","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/represented-civil-service-exempt-staff\/checklist-create-regular-represented-cses-position\/","title":{"rendered":"Checklist \u2013 Create Regular Represented CSEs Position"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This checklist helps HR Partners and Additional Approvers ensure that a create position request for Represented Civil Service Exempt Staff\u00a0 is complete and ready for the HR Compensation Office\u2019s detailed review.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Review <em>Position<\/em> <em>Request Reason.<\/em><\/strong> Ensure reason selected is Create Position &gt; Employee.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Confirm that a <em>Job Posting Title<\/em><\/strong> has been provided.\n<ul>\n<li>For Represented CSEs, this is typically the job profile name.<\/li>\n<li>Other existing job profile or classification titles should not be used as a Business Title. For example, a Manager should not use Assistant Director as their Business Title.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Review Requested <em>Job Profile<\/em><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Is the requested Job Profile active and consistent with the duties? A helpful resource for this is the <a href=\"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/represented-civil-service-exempt-staff\/job-profile-list-and-specs\/\">Job profile list and specs for Represented CSEs<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check the <em>Job Description Summary.<\/em><\/strong> This field is <strong>optional.<\/strong> It can be blank. If used, it should contain a few sentences to describe the position\u2019s purpose.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Review <em>Job Description<\/em><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Must include a detailed description of position\u2019s <strong>specific job responsibilities with estimated percent time<\/strong> breakout. Total must be 100% regardless of position\u2019s % FTE, typically in blocks of time 5% or larger.<\/li>\n<li>Do not merely copy and paste this from the job class spec; <strong>this must be a description of the specific position in your organization.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Minimum qualifications (MQs) must contain the exact language of the MQs on the job classification negotiated with the union. Additional \u201csoft\u201d non-quantified language and position-specific qualifications may be added to a \u201cdesired qualifications\u201d section. Requests that do not include the exact language of the MQs on the specs will be sent back. Exception: UAW Research Scientist\/Engineer position MQs can be customized to reflect the related field and relevant experience required.<\/li>\n<li>Job duties in the Workday Job Description field must align with the duties documented on the attached forms (i.e., Research Scientist\/Engineer Questionnaire)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Confirm <em>Worker Sub-Type<\/em><\/strong> is Regular Salary<\/li>\n<li><strong>Confirm <em>Scheduled Weekly Hours<\/em><\/strong> have been entered and align with selected Time Type and Worker Sub-Type.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Include <em>Attachments<\/em> (if required)<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>A Research Scientist\/Engineer Questionnaire is <strong>required<\/strong> for all UAW Research Scientist\/Engineer and SEIU 925 IHME Research Scientist positions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Confirm <em>Comments<\/em><\/strong> have been entered\n<ul>\n<li>Provide comments\/justifications to communicate additional details about the position, such as:\n<ul>\n<li>This is a duplicate of PN-XXXXXXX.
