Wash and clean windows and door glass at all levels of building interior and exterior.<\/p>\n

BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lead Window Washers and perform window washing duties.<\/p>\n

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lead Window Washers and perform window washing duties at heights regularly above 35 feet. Wash and clean windows (inside and outside), using ladders, window jacks, other power tools; constructing and working with spider scaling\/swing-stage equipment, safety belts, tucker and extension poles, power hoists, hydraulic (i.e., “Genie”) lifts, etc. in populated areas.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of employees;<\/p>\n

Inspect, service and maintain equipment;<\/p>\n

Monitor safety practices;<\/p>\n

Maintain work schedules; record time spent on each job;<\/p>\n

Regularly wash windows and perform related duties at heights above 35 feet;<\/p>\n

Wash and clean windows (inside and outside), using ladders, window jacks, other power tools; construct and work with spider scaling\/swing-stage equipment, safety belts, tucker and extension poles, power hoists, hydraulic (i.e., “Genie”) lifts, etc. in populated areas;<\/p>\n

Ensure that all descent and safety equipment and rigging is in satisfactory condition, including making regular safety checks (with safety checklist);<\/p>\n

Maintain and ensure staff follow an appropriate pre-approved fall-protection plan; develop work-safety for each work site (building);<\/p>\n

Provide protection of university staff, students, and visitors near work site, including erecting barriers and erecting a mechanism to redirect traffic around work site;<\/p>\n

Remove paint, stain, and dirt from glass surfaces;<\/p>\n

Move and replace furniture, fixtures, and equipment to gain window access;<\/p>\n

Perform the work of Window Washer 1 and 2; and<\/p>\n

Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

One (1) year of experience as a Window Washer 2.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n
