Participate in training medical residents, fellows, students and staff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others. Under general direction, perform complex diagnostic and\/or interventional examinations in a diagnostic imaging area and assist in coordinating the operation of imaging laboratory(s).<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of Imaging Technologists; provide input to the supervisor and\/or manager on employee performance;<\/p>\n<p>Participate in the instruction of medical residents, fellows and students in clinical application techniques of diagnostic imaging examinations;<\/p>\n<p>Perform quality control tests; adjust and perform minor maintenance on equipment; review and report the daily operational status of equipment, initiate repair service calls, and document malfunctions;<\/p>\n<p>Assist with the completion of procedure charge documents; participate in inservices;<\/p>\n<p>Schedule procedures and\/or examinations;<\/p>\n<p>Respond to physician phone calls for patient admissions; respond to nursing unit inquiries regarding bed status for admissions of patients; attend charge nurse meetings to assess bed availability as needed;<\/p>\n<p>Assist with solving daily issues, such as equipment problems, staff assignments, and physician questions;<\/p>\n<p>Participate in the interview process for new staff; participate in new employee orientation and training;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in evaluating new products, equipment, and techniques;<\/p>\n<p>Perform work of imaging technologists;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training program in an AMA approved school; registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) And one year of experience in applicable modality OR A minimum of 6 months of technical experience in the applicable modality AND previous leadership experience.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p>Legal Requirement<\/p>\n<p>Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.
