BASIC FUNCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lead respiratory care staff, provide advanced respiratory care to patients.<\/p>\n

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others.<\/p>\n

TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Prioritize and distribute workload and coordinate clinical activities of respiratory care staff;<\/p>\n

Participate in respiratory care special projects;<\/p>\n

Participate in continuing education and orientation of new staff;<\/p>\n

Provide feedback on employee performance for the evaluation process and corrective actions;<\/p>\n

Facilitate optimal utilization of available respiratory care equipment; obtain additional equipment (e.g., renting) as necessary;<\/p>\n

Perform duties of a Respiratory Care Practitioner<\/p>\n

May participate in respiratory care research activities;<\/p>\n

Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Completion of a respiratory care program approved by the State of Washington Department of Health AND eighteen months of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.<\/p>\n

Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n

LEGAL REQUIREMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (Registered Respiratory Therapist – RRT) by the State of Washington.<\/p>\n
