{"id":5670,"date":"2024-03-26T17:21:10","date_gmt":"2024-03-27T00:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/?page_id=5670"},"modified":"2025-05-02T15:52:50","modified_gmt":"2025-05-02T22:52:50","slug":"broadcast-technician-3","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hr.uw.edu\/comp\/classified-staff\/broadcast-technician-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Broadcast Technician 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>17552 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)<br \/>\n22352 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv)<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEFINITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lead work of technicians and participate in the operation and maintenance of a radio and\/or television facility or system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Positions in this class are responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of broadcast technicians and supportive personnel; and for performing specialized maintenance, repair, and construction work on highly complex radio and television facilities and\/or broadcast\/distribution systems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Act as a working lead and install, maintain, and operate studios, control rooms and related television\/radio systems and equipment;<\/p>\n<p>Direct and operate equipment for remote control broadcasts and operate recording equipment;<\/p>\n<p>Conduct performance tests on television and radio broadcast stations, as set forth in FCC Rules and Regulations;<\/p>\n<p>Train and supervise student operators and technicians;<\/p>\n<p>Provide technical assistance to production staff relating to equipment usage and limitations;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in the development of plans to modify and expend existing radio\/television facilities;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Four years of full-time experience\/training in radio or television broadcast technician work.
