Conduct embryo toxicity testing. Maintain laboratory records and assist in research.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general supervision, review and evaluate viability of human gametes; prepare and inseminate human eggs; culture, evaluate and prepare fertilized eggs for transfer; record and summarize data in support of research.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Identify and retrieve human eggs from follicular fluid aspirations;<\/p>\n<p>Evaluate eggs for maturity;<\/p>\n<p>Prepare semen for fertilization; perform a variety of sperm viability enhancement techniques;<\/p>\n<p>Perform in vitro fertilization of human gametes;<\/p>\n<p>Perform microinjection techniques;<\/p>\n<p>Determine successful fertilization; select and prepare embryos for transfer;<\/p>\n<p>Perform cryopreservation of remaining embryos;<\/p>\n<p>Maintain clinical records;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in research by implementing protocols and analyzing data;<\/p>\n<p>Prepare and test all media used with human gametes;<\/p>\n<p>Assist in identifying and testing new procedures and\/or equipment;<\/p>\n<p>May prepare and maintain laboratory equipment; order supplies; order and maintain mice; conduct mouse embryo toxicity tests;<\/p>\n<p>May present patient data at daily rounds;<\/p>\n<p>May assist in orienting and\/or training other staff and\/or residents;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in a scientific field AND one year of experience as a Clinical Embryologist Trainee or equivalent.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>10\/22\/1990: New Class<br \/>\n11\/12\/1993: Revise Class<br \/>\n05\/01\/2000: New to CSA<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 18456 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv) 22624 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) BASIC FUNCTION Perform gamete incubation, insemination, embryo culture, cryopreservation and [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":96,"featured_media":0,"parent":12,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"no","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-5598","page","type-page","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
