Develop competency in conducting procedures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under direct supervision, participate in on-the-job training to learn and perform in vitro fertilization procedures and analysis. Perform in vitro fertilization procedures under observation until all procedures can be performed independently.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Participate in structured training modes to perform the following:<\/p>\n<p>Identify and retrieve human eggs from follicular fluid aspirations;<\/p>\n<p>Evaluate eggs for maturity;<\/p>\n<p>Prepare semen for fertilization; perform a variety of sperm viability enhancement techniques;<\/p>\n<p>Perform in vitro fertilization of human gametes;<\/p>\n<p>Determine successful fertilization; select and prepare embryos for transfer;<\/p>\n<p>Perform cryopreservation of embryos;<\/p>\n<p>Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment;<\/p>\n<p>Perform microinjection techniques;<\/p>\n<p>Prepare all media used with human gametes;<\/p>\n<p>Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in an appropriate field of technology or science AND one year of experience as a technologist working with sterile techniques and cell culture.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent education and\/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and\/or registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION HISTORY\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>11\/12\/1993: New Class<br \/>\n08\/01\/2001: New to CSA<br \/>\n06\/01\/2005: CSR Class Conversion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW CODE AND REPRESENTATIVE GROUP 18455 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv) 22623 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) CLASS SERIES CONCEPT Provide technical support to human in vitro fertilization.
